Child Services

When a child needs someone in their corner.

When a child is facing abuse, neglect, or a crisis at home, someone needs to be looking out for them — coordinating safety plans, keeping schools and doctors in the loop, and helping the whole family work toward something better. That's the part we do.

This is the hardest work we do, and the most important. When a child is at risk, one person needs to be tracking everything — safety plans, school meetings, therapy appointments, family services. Our case managers do that, and they stay with the family for as long as it takes.

What this actually looks like

Day to day, in plain terms.

Safety first

When a child is at risk, everything else waits. We help families build safety plans that actually work for their situation, coordinate immediately with protective services when needed, and connect families to the emergency support they need in a crisis.

Care that fits the child

Children in these situations often need a lot of things at once — a counselor who understands trauma, a doctor who's paying attention, a school that's set up to support them. We coordinate all of it, and we work with providers who specialize in the specific things a child is going through: abuse, neglect, anxiety, behavioral challenges. Care that fits, not care that's generic.

Strengthening the family around them

A child does better when the family around them is doing better. We help parents access parenting education, family counseling, financial assistance, and stable housing — not as separate services, but as part of the same plan. The child's safety and the family's stability are tied together, and both need to move forward at the same time.

Building toward stability

The work doesn't end when the immediate crisis passes. We keep checking in with the family, the school, the therapist, the doctors — and we advocate where advocacy is needed. Over time, that's what builds real stability: protective factors that hold, relationships that stay healthy, and a home where a child can just be a kid.

Who we work alongside

Nobody does this work alone.

Every case involves people who already know the child — teachers, guidance counselors, pediatricians, therapists, DCF workers. When your case manager stays in regular contact with all of them, everyone stays on the same page and the child gets more consistent support.
